Internal Medicine and Subspecialties

The Department of Medicine offers a full range of services to Health Region 2 and more generally to the province of New Brunswick. The Division of Cardiology offers both interventional and non-interventional services, including echocardiography, stress testing, and Holter monitoring. It is the tertiary care referral service for New Brunswick and accepts many patients from Prince Edward Island.

There are a variety of subspecialty interests, including nephrology, gastroenterology, neurology, dermatology, endocrinology, rheumatology, and respirology. The department offers a service in Intensive Care Medicine supervised by 4 specialists. The program also offers a rotation in General Internal Medicine that is hospital-based and offers a very strong ambulatory care elective with emphasis on management of patient problems in ambulatory care.
