Sussex - Community
The Sussex area, population 35,000 (4,182 in the town itself), is located in south central New Brunswick and is strategically placed between the province's three largest cities; Saint John, Moncton, and Fredericton.
With tree-lined streets, gracious older homes and an abundance of small-town charm, Sussex boasts a thriving business culture, recreational possibilities, and an outstanding array of community services. Historically a farming community, Sussex has capitalized on its excellent geography to become a leading transportation, manufacturing, distribution and service center in Atlantic Canada.
Each September, Sussex is host to the Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta. A weekend-long event, 30 hot air balloons take off twice daily to fly over the lush valleys of the Sussex region. Hot air balloon rides are also available to the public over the course of the weekend.
