Pastoral Care
Patient visits made by the clergy are often at the request and desire of patients seeking counsel and advice prior to surgery or while under stress of unexpected illness. It is requested that when you find your patient in conference with their pastor, you forego your visit for a few minutes if immediate access to the patient is not necessary. Should a member of the clergy arrive during patient rounds, again you should release the patient for a few moments as long as it will not interfere with their care. Both the patient and clergy will appreciate this consideration.
